If you're feeling a little worse for wear after the Christmas period then this cracker (sorry) of a half may be just what you need. The race is organised by Flyde Coast Running who organise several races throughout the year including the Great North West Half in February and the Blackpool Half | Marathon in April.
A fast and flat(ish) course on quiet roads through picturesque villages and small hamlets. The course is well signed and marshaled all the way around. The event is strictly limited to 600 runners.
The event headquarters is at St Marys Catholic Primary School, Darkinson Lane, Lea Town, Preston PR4 0RJ. There is parking available at the nearby B.N.F.L. Club on Lea Lane, which will be clearly signed and stewarded. Please do not park on Darkinson Lane as you will obstruct the finish area.
The entry fee is £16 for UK Athletics/ARC Club Members and £18 if you do not run for a club. There may be entries available on the day (don't risk it though if you can enter early), and these will be charged £5 extra. Postal entries will not be accepted.
All runners receive a commemorative medal at the finish line, along with drinks and snacks to help you recover from your run. Individual race winners are awarded prizes in the following categories:
First 3 Male winners in the race
First 3 Lady winners in the race
First Male Veteran
First Lady Veteran
