The Conwy Half Marathon is a relatively new race to the half marathon calendar but regarded by many as a classic in the making. The race is popular attracting over 2000 runners.
The race starts and finishes on the quayside next to the impressive Conwy Castle. Runners take the road which runs adjacent to the River Conwy towards Deganwy beach and the West Shore of Llandudno and then towards Llandudno Pier. The race continues around the Great Orme offering fantastic views of the Isle of Anglesey and Puffin Island before runners head back to Conwy and the finish.
Testing course, with brilliant views of North Wales. Well organised, with good marshalling and regular drink stations. Beware the Great Orme!!!
I did the run in 2012 and had such a great time. A run of contrasts - flat start - very steep middle - flat finish. Marhsalling is brilliant, organisation great.
