Dingle is a beautiful small town which sits on the Atlantic Coast in County Kerry in south-west Ireland. It is a relatively new event which was first held in 2009. I did the half in 2011 and thought it was brilliant - the scenery is stunning and the race is well organised. If you go over say hello to my good friend Bagsy who runs the hotdog stand in the centre of Dingle.
A tough race which takes runners around the spectacular Wirral peninsula, past idyllic villages and lots of historical sites. Both the half and full marathon start at the heart of Dingle and set off together heading towards Ventry. Expect lots of hills, twists and turns and stunning views of the Blasket Islands. Whilst the half turns off to finish near Dunquin the marathon route continues past the beautiful village of Ballyferriter offering views of Murreagh. The hills don't stop but nor do the spectacular views. There's alo an ultra marathon you can take part in if you're feeling brave!
