The Forest of Dean Spring Half Marathon is a popular race organised by The Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean who also organise the Forest of Dean Autumn Trail in September. The race is held within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and starts at the very grand Speech House. All proceeds from the race go towards supporting both local and national charities.
The multi terrain course utilises the Forests trails from Speech House. The route follows both tracks that are well maintained and several short sections of road making the race unsuitable for spikes. Don't be fooled by the 2 miled downhill at the start - there are several tricky hills and a particularly challenging one at around the 12 mile mark!
