The Frieburg half and full marathon is famous for having bands - lots of them (42 to be precise)! The event attracts thousands of runners and tens of thousands of spectators who help to create a unique atmosphere in the south Baden metropolis!
The marathon is two laps of the half marathon course which starts and finishes at the fairgrounds. Runners head down Berliner Allee on the left bank of the Dreisamstadion, before taking the Haslacher road and the Wiwili Bridge to the grand Old Town of Frieburg. Runners pass through Oberau and complete a big loop of the Dreisamstadiion before the second lap starts (or you finish if you are doing the half)!
