About

The Helsinki marathon, which has a Saturday afternoon start is the biggest race in Finland. It's a whopper of an event and has been a fixture on the Scandinavian running calendar for over 30 years.

The Course

The undulating course essentially uses the main harbour area crossing the River Sore several times as the race migrates between several islands. Runners start close to the statue of Paavo Burmi and finishes outside the Olympic Stadium.
