The Moonlight half marathon takes place in beautiful Venice in the north-east of Italy - 118 small islands linked together by canals and bridges. The whole city is a World Heritage Site and runners get to see it in it's evening glory with an 8pm start.
The race starts at Lungomae San Felice, a small village outside Venice. The first part of the course is dominated by lagoons, salt marshes and little boathouses before runners reach the centre of Cavallino. The route continues to wind it's way down Fausta, crossing a bridge over the River Sile and entering Jesolo. The dirt roads give way to straight and lighted long boulevards crowded by delighted tourists before finishing at Piazza Mazzini.
