The Prague half marathon is one of the biggest in Europe with around 12,000 entries. The IAAF Gold Label race attracts runners of all abilities from around the world although the Kenyans have made it their own in recent years. Prague is a stunning city characterised by lots of spires and bridges - stunning architecture that is complimented on race day by thousands of smiling faces lining the streets.
The race starts and finishes in the beautiful Old Town Square or Jan Palach Square near the Rudolfinum. The course follows the Vltava River southwards passing Folimanka Park before runners head over the Palacky Bridge. The race continues south along Strakonicka road before doubling back down the river and towards the northern part of the city and the finish. With the exception of the 5 bridges that runners cross this course is flat as a pancake and one of the fastest in Europe!
