The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon was first held in 2013 and remarkably sold out in three days. In 2014 the race once again sold out quickly and has grown from strength to strength.
The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon boasts one of the fastest marathon courses in the UK. Runners enter the city walls through Walmgate Bar and head down busy Parliament Street before passing through St. Helen's Square.
Sights along the way include The Mansion House and the famous Betty's tea rooms and of coutrse the imposing York Minster. Runners leave the city walls via the ornate Monk Bar to enjoy miles of flat landscape around the Vale of York and the pretty villages and towns of North and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
