The Dusseldorf marathon was first held in 2003, attracts 14,000 runners every year and has been awarded the IAAF Bronze Label. The race boasts fast course records for both the men and women - in 2013 Dereje Debele won with a time of 2:07:47. A year earlier Agnes Barsosio topped the podium with 2:25:49.
A two lap fast course which passes through both the old town and Konigsallee. The race starts and finishes on the banks of the Rhine giving runners brilliant views of the Dusseldorf skyline in the distance.
